Orix Buffaloes by 2Let's sink our teeth into this one, shall we? Firstly, we've got the Yokohama DeNA BayStars on a visit to the Orix Buffaloes. The BayStars have shown a respectable regular seas record this time, slightly edging out the Buffaloes in the win-loss columns. However, in recent historical dramas between the two, the Buffaloes have kept the stars of Yokohama under significant cloud coverage with a dominant 3 out of 4 victories.
Now, if we dive a little closer into recent skirmishes, we see some ebb and flow. The BayStars, despite their recent solar eclipse courtesy of the Buffaloes, have a pretty balanced run against other teams. Some wins, some losses. If we were in a boxing ring, we'd call it 'taking punches and dishing it back'. Move over to the Buffaloes' camp, and they've seen a rough patch against the Tigers, all while maintaining a little dominance over our visiting stars.
Oh, but don't draw conclusions yet. The BayStars are far from weaklings here. They've got this uncanny ability to surprise us when we expect it the least. But then again, aren't sports supposed to be unpredictable? It's part of the charm, after all.
Still, as we put all this puzzle together, each piece leading to the next, it's safe to say the Buffaloes have a little more on their side as they prepare for this dance. In the words of baseball sages - or my overactive imagination - 'history often favors the bold', but in this case, it may just favor the Buffaloes, and not by a huge margin either, but by just that little bit.
