Hanshin Tigers by 2Alright, fire up the calculators because the numbers do matter in this baseball tango.
As far as the Hanshin Tigers and Saitama Seibu Lions go, they've had an interesting dance before. In their last five meets, Hanshin has been the belles of the ball with three wins, while the Lions have shown they can put up some resistance by fighting back and clinching the last two victories.
Looking at their seasonal elegance, the Tigers have a better glide on the dance floor, er, I mean, a stronger regular season record at 35-23 compared to the Lions' 31-27. If it were a popularity contest, which we all know it's not, they'd be booking the limo for the after party already.
Recently both teams have had their share of champagne and heartache, the Tigers dropping their last two games to the Lions, but schooled the Orix Buffaloes before that and left them picking up the check. Now, the Lions, they roared over the Tigers in their recent encounters, but were left licking their wounds by the Hiroshima Carp just prior.
The Cats and the Roars, it's like a feline showdown. But considering all the factors at play, particularly those statistics that can't be mentioned by name, I would brace yourselves for an interesting showdown.
