Orix Buffaloes by 2Ladies and gentlemen, loyal listeners, and sports enthusiasts who clicked on the wrong station, I present to you our upcoming base...ball tragedy featuring the Yomiuri Giants and Orix Buffaloes squaring off once again. It's kind of like watching two geriatric roosters at a retirement home fight over the last pudding cup, but...with bats.
Look, the Giants might have a bit more spark in their batter's box compared to the Buffaloes, but the harsh, cold winds of recent history seem to sweep in the favor of our hooved companions. The Giants have been outscored 11-1 in the last three gory displays of competition between these two squads. A staggering margin that can't be ignored, just like my ex-wife's alimony requests.
Sure the past is the past and ideally we'd move on, like from the mullet or cargo shorts, except when it comes to sports betting, then we cling to history like my accountant to every penny I make. So, look at the records - the Giants and Buffaloes are only a few games apart but let's not forget the last few games where the Buffaloes made Giants out of...well... the Giants.
Yeah, recently both teams have had their ups and downs. One moment, they’re hitting it outta the park, the next it’s like they’ve mistaken baseball for a complicated game of catch. But, let's face it, these streaks are as unpredictable as my next gin and tonic.
Keep in mind, I'm not telling you who to place your bets on. That would be responsible, and as my mother oftentimes says, "Why start now?" But if some hapless wanderer asked for my opinion on this gladiatorial matchup, I may be leaning towards...
