Chunichi Dragons by 2Let's pull back the curtain and delve into the meaty bit of this match-up, shall we? The Chunichi Dragons are currently strutting their stuff, having a more "dragony" fire in their mammalian bellies, if you catch my drift. They've been flashing their scales and gnashing their teeth, seeing a fresher victory against the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles from their cage in recent showdowns. Look at those claws dig into that scoreboard.
Meanwhile, Tohoku, despite their golden plumage, seem to have lost a bit of their shine and have had a few feathers ruffled during this season. The shadow of the Dragons seems to loom large in their rear-view mirror. Perchance, those wings need a touch more gleen.
Don't get me wrong, though. We all know that numbers on a sheet and stats on a chart never tell the full story. Lord knows a bent twig in the wind can suddenly snap back with enough force to make one's monocle pop off. Are these Eagles swooping in for a sweet surprise, biding their time behind those questionable digits and that somewhat less than impressive recent performance?
However, from where I'm squinting, squinting rather intently I must add, the pendulum of fortune seems to be swinging in favor of the Dragons here, as their recent flame-throwing victories should cast a long shadow over the Eagles' wavering morale.
