Chunichi Dragons by 2We have ourselves a real barn burner here with the Chunichi Dragons huffing and puffing onto the diamond of the Saitama Seibu Lions. Hullabaloo! Last time these dragons breathed fire into the Lions' den, they got smoked, losing two out of three. But since then, the Dragons have been spewing that fire more consistently, winning three out of their last five games. The Lions, on the other hand, have lost their roar somewhat, as they got gutted by the Hiroshima Carp recently.
Despite the Dragons' regular season record being a bit soggy, let's not forget baseball is a fickle mistress, sometimes caring not for stale statistics. It's about momentum, and it sure seems like the Dragons are getting heated at just the right moment. Hold on to your scales, though, because the Lions are no cuddly house cats. They've clawed their way to a winning season, and their den is not an easy place for any visiting team.
But here's where I'll surprise you. Call me unhinged, but I'm gonna go against the grain and pick the underdogs. The Dragons, with their recent momentum, could just pull off a stunner in the Lion's den.
