My Prediction
Detroit Tigers by 3Right down the middle of the plate we go, with the Pittsburgh Pirates invading Comerica Park to take on the Detroit Tigers. Now let's cut this debate with a sharp whittling knife folks. The recent history has not been kind to the Pirates when it comes to tussling with the Tigers. The past games for these two serve up a hearty dish of lopsided results, favoring the kitties of Detroit.
Take a peek at those seasonal records too, and you'll see Tigers roaring at 47-27 wins and losses while the Pirates... well they're scraping by with 29-45. I reckon the Pirates are using a compass with no North cause they've been walking in circles recently, while the Tigers are trudging along the savannah with a purpose.
On the mound for the Pirates we've got Andrew Heaney, sporting a solid 3.40 ERA with a respectable K/9 ratio. If he's brought his A-game and the lid to his jam jar, the Tigers might find themselves in a sticky mess. But fret not Tiger fans, cause you've got Tarik Skubal with a sabertooth's-type season of a tidy 2.03 ERA. Pitching in Comerica Park that's been especially kind to its hurlers, I'd say Skubal has the paddle in this dinghy ride.
Now let's talk some brawny batsmen. For the Pirates, Bryan Reynolds and Andrew McCutchen are looking to dent some fenders, whilst over at the cat's corner we have Riley Greene and Wenceel Perez showing off their chunky averages of .288 and .316 respectively. Given the state of affairs, arms and bats alike, seems like you'd need to clock out early to bet on the Pirates.
