Look who we've got on the docket folks, the Royals are brushing boots with the Rangers in Arlington and boy, this looks interesting. Kansas City Royals have their lefty dynamo on the mound, Kris Bubic, who's been spinning fireballs with an impressive 2.06 ERA this season. Not to mention his healthy strikeouts-per-nine-innings, which are sitting at 9.4. I'll tell you, that's a fantasy team dream right there!
On the flip side, the Rangers led by their steadfast workhorse Patrick Corbin. Corbin, though having a higher ERA of 3.76 and lower strikeouts-per-nine-innings of 6.8, is sure not to be dismissed lightly.
Let's not turn our back on the muscle these teams bring to the plate either. Kansas City's got some serious power in the lineup: Vinnie Pasquantino swinging a hot bat with a .367 average, Maikel Garcia and Bobby Witt Jr. showing a flair for speed and opportunistic base-stealing. And, oh, do not forget Salvador Perez with his 6 moon shots!
Over yonder, Texas is banking on Evan Carter, Marcus Semien, and Jake Burger to light up the scoreboard. Semien, in particular, maintaining a pretty .318 batting average, has been spotted circling the bases with a flair of his own.
Sure, the Royals were riding on a bit of a downward slope with their 35-38 record, but 'remember' their recent 6-1 win against the Rangers sure gives them some steam heading into this.
On the other hand, the Rangers have been flaunting a flashier, almost .500 record of 36-37. But, their recent play's been as shaky as a three-legged barstool, especially considering their recent dust-off.
Now, hold your hats, in their past meet-ups, we have seen both the Royals and Rangers witnessing some wins and losses, but it seems like the Royals might have grilled the Rangers recently.
So, my money folks, and not literally of course because well, we are just having a friendly chat here, but if I had to put my imaginary 'dollars to donuts,' I’d see the Royals winning this baseball bout.
