Houston Astros by 3Let me paint a picture here kid. We have the Houston Astros heading north to face the Chicago White Sox on their turf at the Guaranteed Rate Field. Home field advantage or not, the Houston Astros have sparred with the White Sox in the past and come out on top like a freshly baked scone from your grandma's oven. That's without mentioning the circus that the White Sox have been, they've been playing more like minor leaguers than anything else this regular season with their 9-24 record.
On the mound, we got Lance McCullers Jr. ready to sling for the Astros and, well kid, he's a ghost! No blips on the radar, nothing. Compared to McCullers, Bryse Wilson of the White Sox looks like a misfired Chinese New Year firecracker with a 5.42 ERA over 11 appearances this season. Might as well bring in a pitching machine at this point, at least it wouldn't walk as many batters.
If you're looking for some star power on the field, well then, feast your eyes on the Astros’ lineup. With players like Jake Meyers and Jeremy Pena knocking out a batting average of above 0.300, they're firing on all cylinders. Is there a fire extinguisher nearby? Cause these boys are hot! The White Sox, well... their batting averages look more like a discount at a Black Friday sale: Luis Robert Jr.'s average is rather sad at 0.183 but hey, who doesn't love a good underdog story, right?
Look, the past says it all: Houston showed they can shut out the White Sox, thrashing them 8-0 recently in May. Coupled with the fact that the White Sox are struggling at home, it's clear who’s got the edge.
