My Prediction
Detroit Tigers by 2Let's dive right in between the Detroit Tigers and the Los Angeles Angels. Face-off time at the definitely-not-vanilla Angel Stadium in Anaheim, a place where bats aren't afraid to sing. Not quite a lullaby for the pitchers, you say? Tricky for them, perhaps.
Can anyone resist the charm of the Detroit's Reese Olson on the mound, buckling batters with a 3.70 ERA and striking out a cool 9.1 per 9 innings in the season? Not easily, I dare say. On the other corner, you've got the Angels' Jack Kochanowicz, a gritty young man who's seen better days this season with a 5.45 ERA and 5.4 K/9.
The batting lineup for Detroit is no slouch either. Zach McKinstry and Javier Baez are the guys you'll want to keep your eyes on. McKinstry's batting a flashy 0.321 and Baez isn't far behind at 0.304. Over on the Angels' side, Logan O'Hoppe's been a touch on the hot side with a 0.298 average and 8 big flies. And do I really need to remind you about Mike Trout? Not exactly raking this season, but he still sends the ball over the fence like his life depends on it.
History hasn't taken sides lightly in the past clashes. The Tigers and the Angels faced off multiple times last year with mixed results. The Tigers have been on a winning streak recently, though the Angels were able to slow them down in their last meet up.
