New York Yankees by 2Looking at the Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankees clashing at the Yankee Stadium, we've got quite a duel coming up. Begin by taking into account the advantage the Yankee stadium offers to our pitchers.
On the mound for the Rays, we've got Zack Littell with a 5.03 ERA this season, and ya know I've seen more promising numbers than that. Now, on the side of the Yankees, we have Clarke Schmidt who yawned his way to a 5.70 ERA this season. Exciting, isn't it?
Turning our attention to the players now, some pretty average Joe's earning bucks for the Rays. Kameron Misner, Chandler Simpson, Junior Caminero, Jonathan Aranda, and Yandy Diaz are holding portions of the fort with their middling statistics. The Yankees on the other hand, we see Aaron Judge, Paul Goldschmidt, Trent Grisham, and Benjamin Rice with some pretty solid stats, though they have certainly seen better days.
Casting a glance over their recent meetups, a series dominated by the Yankees, not pretty stuff for the Rays fans. Taking the records into account, the Yankees hold an edge, probably thanks to the world class cheerleading.
The Rays hardly throwing any raucous parties recently. A pattern of losses making those uniforms look a bit greyer. The Yankees, in contrast, have had a fair bit of to celebrate; they're doing better than the MTA, but let's not get carried away, that isn't exactly a high bar.
