Cleveland Guardians by 1Now let's dive into this upcoming clash between the Cleveland Guardians and the Toronto Blue Jays. Our playing field for this matchup is the lovely Rogers Centre, a venue that slightly favors the pitchers, worth keeping in mind, folks.
Our starting pitchers, Bibee of the Guardians and Francis of the Blue Jays, clearly had a bit of a rough go this season. I mean, with an ERA of 4.56 and 6.10? C'mon guys, I've seen better performances at the local little league games. All is not lost though. Bibee does show some potential with an edge in strikeouts-per-nine-innings.
Now, let's talk about the guns in this game. The Guardians, they have Steven Kwan, Angel Martinez and the batting challenged Kyle Manzardo. Kwan and Martinez have been wrecking the pitch while Manzardo, despite his lower batting average, is still bringing in those runs.
On the other side, we have the Blue Jays, with superb hitter Tyler Heineman racking up an impressive 0.414 batting average this season. Myles Straw and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. aren't too shabby neither with decent plays and home runs.
In terms of past skirmishes, the Guardians have a slight edge having won 4 out of the 5 recent engagements. And their regular season record slightly trumps the the Blue Jays too, 19-14 to 16-17 respectively.
So with all this said and done I would say, the Guardians have a slight edge, but don't count the Blue Jays out just yet. You know what they say about baseball, "It ain't over till the fat lady sings." Anyways, I reckon a really close game.
