Arizona Diamondbacks by 2
It's the Tampa Bay Rays playing guests to the Arizona Diamondbacks today, ladies and gents, and the air's already buzzing with anticipation over at Chase Field in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. With its slightly above-average Park Factor leaning towards our brave batters, watching those baseballs fly is certainly going to be interesting.
Twirling those balls for the Rays is Drew Rasmussen, who, quite literally, seems to be on top of the mound with his impressive 0.89 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP over the season so far. On the other side of the diamond, Corbin Burnes of the Diamondbacks hasn't quite found his groove yet with a 4.69 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP.
From the Rays, it's the dynamic trio of Misner, Mangum, and Aranda to look out for, with their lethal combination of batting averages and RBIs. Over on the Diamondbacks, Smith and Carroll are crushing it with impressive batting averages and runs batted in.
Now if we look at the history books, the past skirmishes between these two teams have been something akin to an epic poem with trials and tribulations. Though the Rays and Diamondbacks are almost neck-and-neck in their past matchups, it's a slight upper hand for the Rays.
When it comes to performance this season, it's the Diamondbacks who have the better record at 14-10, with the Rays lagging at 10-14. Recent match results reveal a seesaw battle for both teams in their last five games.
Adding all these flavorings up and mixing them well, my prognostication goes like this:
