Alright, good people, brace yourselves as the Colorado Rockies take their traveling circus to the grand metallic structure of the Kauffman Stadium to square off against the Kansas City Royals.
On the mound for the Rockies we have Ryan Feltner. Now, this guy's season ERA is just shy of 5, and boy, that's not good brewing, ladies and gentlemen. Compare that to the Royals' Kris Bubic, who has been a revelation this season with a solid 2.32 ERA and a hefty 10.4 K/9. Kudos, Bubic!
The Royals have some heavy hitters, like Bobby Witt Jr. who's boasting a nice .318 batting average, 9 RBIs, and 2 dingers. I mean the guy’s also stealing bases like candy on Halloween. Then there’s Maikel Garcia, who's pushing his batting average north of .280 and racking up RBIs at a consistent pace. The Rockies, on the other hand, are leaning on Kyle Farmer and his pretty decent .306 batting average. But folks, we've been around the block, haven’t we? We all know nice doesn't win baseball games. Nick Martini and Hunter Goodman: they need to step it up!
Now, if we cast our eyes over yonder to the land of past matchups between these two clubs, we've got a more-or-less equal swing. But, mind you, the Royals did some serious mollywhopping last time they met with a 10-1 nackering of the Rockies.
The regular season tilt sees the Royals with a slightly less embarrassing 9-14 record, while the Rockies... well, let's just say the Rockies have been playing like a high school junior varsity squad with a dismal 4-17 showing.
And where does that lead us? Well, based on everything we've seen and everything I'm forced to conclude, I'd say the Royals are clutching a whole garden of four-leaf clovers in this encounter. But remember, in baseball, the path to victory is as clear as mud.
Albert’s Prediction: Kansas City Royals by 3
