Here we are with another raging baseball bonanza as the St. Louis Cardinals are planning to invade Fenway Park, and let me tell you, this isn't akin to dropping in unannounced for Sunday brunch. It's the Boston Red Sox they'll be facing.
When it comes to the mound, we'll see Andre Pallante from the Cardinals and Richard Fitts for the Red Sox. Pallante has been consistent with a 3.60 ERA and 5.4 K/9 this season. Meanwhile, Fitts is pulling a 4.5 ERA but has been a bit stingy on the strikeouts with only 6.0 K/9.
Now, onto some of those players you all have been raving about, the St. Louis Cardinals have players like Baker, Nootbaar, and Herrera, quite a handful, isn't it? Baker has a pretty batting average of 0.429 with 2 RBIs, doing his part for the team, while Nootbaar has been knocking with a 0.414 batting average and 6 RBIs. And Herrera, oh, Herrera, batting right at 0.400 and having 4 home runs to his name.
Boston isn't an empty fort either. With a curveball, we have Aroldis Chapman. He's running a squeaky clean slate this season—I don't see an ERA, WHIP, or K/9. Maybe he just forgot to show up. Let's not forget Wilyer Abreu, who's batting an impressive 0.500 with 8 RBIs.
History seems to add a dash of whim here, with the Red Sox largely dominating. But it's baseball, folks, and remembering past glory doesn't make you the home run king of today. That said, their season records are neck-and-neck.
Judging by their recent results, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster for both teams. But Fenway Park with its homely hum should tilt the equilibrium a bit in favor of Boston.
Taking everything into account, I'm calling this one for the Boston Red Sox. But hold your horses—it won't be a cakewalk.
Albert’s Prediction: Boston Red Sox by 2
