Nakashima in straight sets. Can’t say love isn’t brutal when it comes to sports.
Now don't get too attached to your underdog intentions here. Christopher Eubanks may have shown some gumption by edging out a seeded Nishikori in his recent match and a victory in an older bout against Nakashima, but those hoping for the Cinderella story to continue may come away heartbroken.
Truth be told, it doesn't look so rosy for our unseeded friend, Eubanks. His recent performance has been a hot and cold affair, losing three of his last five matches. In fact, his inconsistent performances make me feel like I’m on a roller coaster, and not a fun one.
On the other hand, Brandon Nakashima, the 4th seed, has trounced Eubanks in their last two face-offs without losing a single set. On top of that, Nakashima’s recent run only missed out on a perfect record by a hair, securing three wins in his last five outings. He’s more consistent than a metronome at a symphony orchestra.
So, if you were to stake your hard-earned green on this match, I'd say to play it safe. The past isn't always a clear indicator of the future, but in this case, I think it's a fairly decent roadmap.
Albert’s Prediction: Nakashima in straight sets. Can’t say love isn’t brutal when it comes to sports.
