Oh, look what we have here, ladies and gentlemen. It's yet another delightful match of the Grand Prix Hassan II, featuring our unseeded wonder boy, Hugo Dellien, and the numero trois seed, Alexandre Muller. A clash worthy of a bowl of popcorn, if you ask me.
Dellien seems like he's been stumbling a bit recently. Bit of a mixed bag, hiccupping with losses to Darderi and Garín but also savored some solid victories. Dellien's win over Vukić has a delightful zesty flavor, ending the match 2 sets to 1. However, losing to Darderi without even scratching a set tells more of a tragic comedy than a success story.
On the other side of the net stands Muller, who nowadays might mistake his tennis court for a rollercoaster at an amusement park, given all those highs and lows. Notable lumps were dished out by Cerundolo, Seyboth Wild, Tiafoe, and Baez. However, there's a bright spot in beating Sakamoto without dropping a set, showing that Muller has a bit of fight in him, kind of like a small, angry terrier.
Yet, here lies the crux of my prediction, ladies and gents. Muller is seeded third in this tournament, which, unless my eyesight has suddenly quit on me, is a solid step up from Dellien's unseeded status. I hate to beat a dead horse here, but seeing lots of green in the win column is generally more favorable than a kaleidoscope of win-loss scenarios.
So, without further ado, despite Dellien's feisty spirit, the numbers point towards Muller's direction. He's favored for a reason, so as long as he doesn't accidentally serve the ball into the stands, he should take this match.
Albert's Prediction: Muller in straight sets.
