Tabilo in 3 setsAh, the thrill of clay court tennis, ladies and gents, where the name of the game is nous, a good sliding ability, and an unshakeable dread of getting clay in your socks.
Now, let's talk Alejandro Tabilo and J. Brooksby, who are primed to get their socks a bit dirty. Tabilo, our third seed, has been nursing a nasty slide recently, with only two wins in his last five outings. Among these, he was shown the clay court door twice by the talents of Ruud and Fritz, two players for whom 'show no mercy' seems to be a personal philosophy.
On the other hand, we've unseeded Brooksby. This lad has been defying the odds, and the well, odds again, with three straight victories leading up to this clash. A display of fine form, though not without its dips, mind you. Safiullin and Draper, unimpressed with Brooksby's recent successes, ensured he tasted defeat before his current winning streak. Still, a good fight, it's always a good fight with Brooksby.
But, this is where the clay thickens. Tabilo may have slipped a few times recently, but his seeding is not to be taken lightly. They don't call the guy a clay whisperer for nothing. Folks, it's really dense clay to call this one, and while Brooksby's love for surprises cannot be dismissed, Tabilo's clay court aptitude might just have the upper hand here.
