You couldn't pay to see a match-up between two unseeded players this intriguing.
Osaka, once a titan in the game, has shown, shall we say, a certain artistic inconsistency in her matches this season. Thinking back across her recent results, she's been dancing the two-step with victory, but at times she's been seen doing the waltz of defeat, losing to newcomers Bronzetti L. and Paolini J., which surely gave her a case of indigestion.
"But what about Venus flytrap Stearns?" you ask. Well, she's had a roller-coaster journey too.
