Navarro in straight sets. She'll serve up a solid victory quicker than you can say 'Love-Love'.
Moving onto the Round of 32 at the Internazionali d'Italia, we've got Emma Navarro and Clara Tauson dueling it out on the court. Navarro, the 10th seed, versus Tauson at 22, can be viewed as a clash of progress against the odds.
Looking back at the recent results, Clara Tauson has been facing a few bumps here and there. Recently, she claimed a victory against Volynets but struggled against Bencic, Potapova, and Badosa. Not exactly the most encouraging run leading up to this matchup, but hey, chin up Clara, we've witnessed underdogs spiraling up in the past.
As for Navarro, the 10th seed, she's just knocked back Rakhimova in a love-love win and wiped Joint off the court. A small hiccup against Vekić and Ostapenko doesn’t overshadow the fact that Navarro comes to the table with a lot more winning in her recent matches. I suppose it's like eating your vegetables - not always enjoyable, but it gets the job done.
My gut, along with the very nature of how these figures notoriously stack up, we're seeing Navarro to be the favorite. Unless Tauson has a secret weapon up her sleeve, Navarro’s recent performance plays like Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 to my ears. As much as a Tauson win would stir the pot, I'm not putting my money on that upset.
Albert’s Prediction: Navarro in straight sets. She'll serve up a solid victory quicker than you can say 'Love-Love'.
