Ah, sports connoisseurs, here we are! Another stellar match in the Nippon Professional Baseball league; Tokyo Yakult Swallows squaring off against Chunichi Dragons on the Dragons' home turf.
Now, recent history clearly shows the Dragons have a bit of an edge. They've enjoyed a trend of fire-breathing dominance over the Swallows this season, as demonstrated by a chain of victories - I wouldn't be surprised if the Swallows are nurturing a phobia of large lizards at this point!
Considering the current season, well, the Dragons' record is slightly less distressing. Someone has probably reminded them they're playing baseball and not shooting for the highest golf score. Not too shabby with 33 wins out of 74. The Swallows, on the other hand, well... with a record of 21-47, they've been doing more nose-diving than soaring this season.
Taking a quick look at the recent results provides an interesting peek into these teams' current form. The Swallows, bless their hearts, despite a recent victory over Hiroshima Carp, are looking wobbly, especially given their unimpressive record against the Hanshin Tigers and the very Dragons they are set to face. The Dragons, while also carrying a mixed bag of recent results, have at least displayed consistent competitive spirit.
Considering all of this, it's hard to see Tokyo's beloved Swallows pulling a rabbit out of the hat, big enough to startle our Dragons, anyway. I'm picturing more the Swallows being left shell-shocked once again as the Dragons defend their lair.
Should be a good show, unless you're a betting bird...
