If we take our time machine back to the past match-ups between the Yomiuri Giants and the Hanshin Tigers, we will notice a trend of back-and-forths. A true ping pong match if there ever was one in baseball. However, one can't help but notice, the Tigers have recently gained an edge over their Giant adversaries.
Now, let's check out the regular season records. Interestingly, the Giants and Tigers are clenched in a not so fierce embrace when it comes to their respective win-loss records. However, the Tigers appear to have gotten just a smidgen luckier, or perhaps have simply been basking in the glow of a slightly brighter performance.
Transitioning toward the recent performance corridor, the Giants have been on their own little roller-coaster, teetering on the edge of really scoring big time, but not quite making it. The "Barnes Ride" seems to have been especially thrilling for them - both in the high points and the lows.
As for the Tigers recent performance, they’ve been dishing out what you’d expect from a team with a cat’s meow and a feline grace. Strutting off their claw strength, winning a majority of their recent engagements. Sure, the loss against the SoftBank Hawks did break their stride, but who said cats couldn't stumble from time to time, right?
So, the grand conclusion peeps and peepettes, based on everything but the color of their jerseys and the weather forecast on the game night, I'm placing my hypothetical money on the Hanshin Tigers bagging another victory.
