Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles by 2Alright, sit tight folks because we have quite the pickle here. We've got the Chiba Lotte Marines taking the field against the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. Now, one might be tempted to paint with a broad stroke based on the regular season records. Tohoku's had a better go of it with 33 victories to Chiba's 28. But let's not touch that dial yet, Chiba's got a bit of a mean streak flashing across those past match-ups.
Yeah, team Marines might've had a visit from lady luck when they crushed the Eagles 5 to 2 not too long ago. But even a stopped clock is right twice a day, right? Tohoku, on the other hand, managed to clean sweep the Marines twice in a row, draping themselves in denim, if 4-0 and 4-3 scores could be considered denim to anyone in the first place.
When we peek at the recent results, Chiba turns the tables again, having a mini-rollercoaster ride with streaks of win some, lose some. Meanwhile, Tohoku seems like they decided to turn baseball into an opera of tragic losses with a sprinkling of wins.
So, what are we to make of it? The Eagles come into this with a slight edge, but the Marines can be sneaky when they decide to up their game which, for your betting interests and my amusement, put us in a bit of a delightful quandary.
