Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles by 2Alright, let's sink our teeth into this one. The Chiba Lotte Marines are visiting the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles for a game that we can only hope won't give us more yawns than cheers. Looking at the past few skirmishes of these two teams, we see that the Eagles have reigned supreme more often than not, including a recent shutout.
The Marines aren't exactly smashing this season with less than a stellar record, struggling more than a faint-hearted heavyweight on a thigh-master. On the other side of the field, the Eagles are far from soaring, with a track record that looks more like a seagull caught in a wind turbine than an apex predator of the skies.
Recently, both teams have produced results more inconsistent than the plot of a daytime soap opera. However, the Eagles have shown a slight edge in stability over the Marines, who seem to have decided that unpredictability is the spice of life, or at least of baseball.
Now folks, I’m not one to make snap judgments but it's hard to see the Marines gaining the upper hand here. The Eagles, although they have their own set of issues, seems to have a better grip on the game than a one-year-old has on a cheerio.
