Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters by 2
Isn’t it cherry blossom season again? Well, it's time to watch the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and the Chiba Lotte Marines oil their gloves and swing those bats again.
Let's lace up those cleats and get into the total stat-quackery game here.
If we get all historical about it, Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters seem to have a stranglehold on the Marines. I mean, in their previous matchups, the Fighters won four out of five. Not a bad win rate, eh? They seem to like batting as much as I like my morning pancakes. Sloppy and covered in syrupy victory.
This season’s been slightly better for our Fighters as compared to the Marines. They're 8-6, while Chiba's dragged their losing record through the sand like a soggy hotdog at a beach barbecue, sitting sadly at 5-7.
Speaking of recent performances, our Fighters here have been mostly sunny, a tad rainy at times but that's just good for the crops. Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters do feel a bit low on the taste factor after losing to Saitama Seibu Lions 2-7 and 1-2 recently, but they did plow through the Golden Eagles, 10-0 and 8-2, which warms my heart like a perfectly toasted marshmallow.
And then there's the Chiba Lotte Marines, donning their game faces while on a losing streak, being blanked by the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks 0-8 very recently. Results have varied like a bag of mixed nuts for them, peppered with more losses than wins.
Somebody needs to hand Chiba a glove because they can't seem to catch a break.
Now enough of this number salsa, let's get to the prediction already.
