Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters by 2
So, we've got quite the poultry-themed showdown coming up with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters taking on the Orix Buffaloes. And by the looks of it, the Buffaloes have been doing more than just grazing lately, with a robust 12-5 record. However, the Fighters aren't exactly pushovers with their 9-8 pocket - a little less glam, a bit more ham if you catch my drift.
The most recent head-to-heads seem to reflect the Buffs being the bully, winning 3 out of the last 4 encounters. The Fighters, bless their hearts, did manage to put up a decent fight in some of those losses, even stealing victory in their meet up back in September '24.
Both units have had a somewhat bumpy ride in recent outings, though. The Fighters were, frankly, more like lambs in their last game against the Orix, while the Buffaloes had a mixed goring session with the Lions.
And thus, as the grand oracle of non-binding wisdom that I am, I foresee a particularly tense battle this time around. Battles of brutality and brawn, intermixed with a few chuckles and cries are what I imagine for this encounter. Although it’s a close call, I predict the favored Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters to edge out the Orix Buffaloes in a down-to-the-line face-off.
