My Prediction
Hanshin Tigers by 2Oh, the delightful dance of the great game of baseball and today's dance features the Hiroshima Carp, sauntering onto the Hanshin Tigers' turf. Just looking at the history books, our Carp have a comfortable head to head lead over the Tigers with three wins in their last five encounters. The last one, in particular, the Carp shredded the Tigers like cheap sushi. And let's face it, the regular season-ending saw the Carp cruising at 10 wins versus 6 losses, while the Tigers were just a smudge better than 50/50 with 8 out of 15.
But then something called 'recent form' rears its pesky head, and oh boy, do the Carp need a lifeline! They got schooled by the Dragons and only barely squeaked a win over Erik Barnes. Our Tigers on the other hand, apart from their misstep against the Carp, have been scoring runs like they're going out of fashion!
But who's going to strut off the field today? It's a tough call, but on balance I'd say the Tigers might just repay the Carp's last visit's humiliation, and how about we treat ourselves and predict a bit of a claw back.
