Saitama Seibu Lions by 2Ladies and Gentlemen, we've got a thrilling Nippon Professional Baseball showdown on our hands. You've got your Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks flying into the Saitama Seibu Lions' house. Buckle up, this is going to be fun.
The Hawks have been struggling a smidgen with a 6-10 record, while the Lions have just broken even at 8-8. So, if you're the betting type, I'm sure you're furrowing your eyebrows at this point.
Looking at recent encounters, the Hawks should've packed a parachute considering how much they've been falling. A scanty one win in their last five outings doesn't quite paint the picture of overwhelming force does it?
On the other side, the Lions have been on a lion's share of a winning streak with three victories under their mane in the last five games. They've also been giving the Hawks a hard time in recent meet-ups, keeping them to meek scores and roaring into the lead.
Given these bits of wizardry, we get to the million yen question. Who's coming out on top? Let's first observe that when a hawk tries to duel a lion without a clear advantage, well, nature documentary enthusiasts could tell you how that usually pans out.
Now, bear in mind this isn't a nature documentary, and the Hawks could still pull off the upset - baseball isn't always rational. But if we go by the factors at hand, I'm leaning towards the home team, but since the Hawks aren't pushovers, it may not be a very large victory margin.
