Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks by 2
Here's a matchup that's about as predictable as a flip of a well-greased coin folks. You have the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles up against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. Both teams closing in on double digit losses this regular season, and I dare say, they're neck and neck towards disappointment, but hey, it’s all fun and games until somebody loses, right?
Now, recalling the most recent rendezvous between these two titans, the Golden Eagles certainly had cause to sing, besting the Hawks in both of the past two matchups. But flip back a few pages in the history books, and we see a different tale, with the Hawks soaring high and the Eagles merely grounded birds.
The Hawks, recently, have had a decent track record, tasting victory more than having to swallow defeat, bar the last couple games versus the Golden Eagles. On the other hand, the Eagles, well, let’s just say, they've been having stiffer drinks with the Orix Buffaloes.
All in all, when these two teams face off, it's less a David vs Goliath situation and more a Goliath vs slightly larger Goliath going at it. So, if I had to pick a victor from this arm wrestle, I'd call for the Hawks to swoop in and snatch victory from the talons of the Eagles, likely by a hair's breadth.
