Winnipeg Jets by 2Hold onto your seats and get them nachos ready because we have got ourselves a five-alarm exodus going on here in the icy North. The Vancouver Canucks are carting their sticks and skates over to Winnipeg Jets territory, unveiling another round in the annals of their famed rivalry.
Between the pipes, the Canucks are fielding Kevin Lankinen and Thatcher Demko, who have put up some respectable digits this season. Lankinen fiercely stands at 1095 saves, but it's clear that Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck is not to be overshadowed with a colossal record of 1382 saves and a 94.7 save percentage. Quite impressive, if I say so myself.
Let's talk Canucks, shall we? Their on-ice maestros include Pius Suter and Quinn Hughes with last month feats of 8 goals/7 assists and 2 goals/ 10 assists respectively. However, modest though it may be, General Hughes does need a bit of a brush up on his plus-minus. On the other side of the rink, we have the Jets' ace players like Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele. What a duo, folks! Put 'em together and you get a whopping 11 goals and 22 assists just from last month. And I must say, their plus-minus stats are up for bragging rights!
From the dusty, forgotten chronicles of past encounters, the Jets appear to have an edge. Insert last two meetings between these teams where the Jets either went on a scoring frenzy or held the Canucks at bay. But let's not forget Canucks' morale-boosting 6-2 win over the Jets recently. A page from the history book for sure!
The regular season records have the Jets soaring at 50-4-19 while the Canucks are a bit adrift at 34-13-26. And well, recent results vary as widely as the price of tea in Chinatown, but the most recent delight for the Jets was shutting out New Jersey 4-0 while Canucks took a hit against Columbus.
