Pittsburgh Penguins will march into enemy territory to jostle with the St. Louis Blues. Penguins' goalkeepers Tristan Jarry and Alex Nedeljkovic seemingly fail to maintain their A-game with the save percentage in the last month noticeably lesser than the season average. Whether they can stop the Blues' soaring offense remains a question.
Top Penguins forwards Sidney Crosby and Rickard Rakell have been compelling contributors, but the Penguins' defense, Bryan Rust and Erik Karlsson for example, have struggled. Their minus performance this season raises eyebrows. But let's not forget hockey isn't a one-man show!
Skating over to the Blues side, things barrage with Jordan Binnington and Joel Hofer at the net, both exhibiting rather solid performances recently. The Blues' spirited attack, with the likes of Robert Thomas and Dylan Holloway leading the band, has been bashing opponents and that doesn't seem to change anytime soon. Paired with decent defense, the Blues seem to be humming a harmonious tune.
Examining historical brawls between these two, it appears Pittsburgh Penguins have an edge mainly on home ice. Yet, the St. Louis Blues seem to have a slightly better record this regular season and have been in phenomenal form, bulldozing their recent opponents. Penguins, however, are having a choppy run.
So, crunching all these numbers and betting my reputation, my dear ol' gamblers, here's the much-anticipated prediction:
