Los Angeles Clippers by 13
Sit down, buckle up, and grab your popcorn, because Los Angeles Clippers are bringing the storm to San Antonio Spurs tonight. Leading the charge for the Clippers are James Harden and Kawhi Leonard, who, with stats that would make Pythagoras nod in approval, are real offensive beasts. Harden, averaging merely a bucket shy of 24 points per game and Leonard with 25.1 points, have left audiences jaw-dropped more times than I care to count. Don't forget to count Ivica Zubac with his 19.1 point double-double from last month too, though.
Now, let's peek over the fence to see what we have in the Spurs’ camp. De'Aaron Fox has seen more net than a Baltimore fisherman, with 21 points per game on average in the last month, and following hot on his heels is Stephon Castle bringing some fiery stats with 18.6 points per game last month, proving that he's not just playing, he’s performing. Oh, and let’s not forget up-and-comer Devin Vassell, whose 18.2 points per game makes him a player to watch.
In terms of toe-to-toe, blow-for-blow fare, these teams have exchanged punches in the past with the Clippers usually coming out on top. This year’s regular season records puts Clippers in the lead too. As much as I'd love to see an underdog story from the 32-46 San Antonio Spurs, they're up against a force in the form of the 46-32 Clippers.
Unfortunately for Spurs, their past few outings have had more lows than highs. The Clippers, on the other hand, are on a high tide with grand wins against big kahunas like Dallas. Add that to the Clippers being 5th in the western conference against Spurs languishing at 13th, I mean, the writing's on the wall here, isn't it?
So for those of you who put your money where my mouth is, it’s going to be the tipping of scales in the favor of LA tonight. Grab your calculators or abacuses or whatever it is you kids use these days, because I foresee a considerable winning margin here.
Albert’s Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers by 13.
