Memphis Grizzlies by 3Well, well, well, ladies and gentlemen, grab your popcorn for this one. We have the Memphis Grizzlies hitting the road to take on the Detroit Pistons. Now, don't forget your reading glasses 'cause we're about to dive into some serious numbers here.
Starting off with the Memphis Grizzlies. A look at their recent performance paints quite the image - it's like admiring a fine piece of abstract art and trying to make sense of it all. But one thing undoubtedly straight as an arrow is their main man, Ja Morant. This fella’s been hot like an oven, tossing balls like they're on a discount. Last month, he pulled off an impressive average of 30.2 points per game. Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. weren't exactly twiddling their thumbs either, keeping their averages up above the boards too.
Now, over to the Pistons. It's like a late-night infomercial – you think you've seen everything and then comes Cade Cunningham. The Motor City has been roaring with his antics this year. 28.4 points per game last month - that's a stat that makes you want to call your mom and tell her you love her. Other names to note are Jalen Duren and Malik Beasley who’ve kept the Pistons' wheels turning.
Historically, the Grizzlies have had the Pistons in a bear hug, winning all past matchups. But if your memory is as good as mine, you'd remember that regular season records are a smidge close, with Grizzlies at 45-32, slightly ahead of Pistons' 42-34. Recently though, Grizzlies have been on a rollercoaster ride, with more downs than ups. Pistons, on the other hand, despite their losses, have managed to snag some nice wins too.
Both teams are standing shoulder to shoulder at the #6 spot in their respective conferences. It all boils down to a bare-knuckle brawl in Detroit. But as they say, “You can't swing a cat without hitting a Grizzlies prediction” (well, nobody really says that, but it’s pretty funny, right?). So, without further adieu:
