Portland Trail Blazers by 3
Okay folks – pardon me, I meant to say, moving straight into the action here. Let's take a gander at the upcoming NBA matchup, Portland Trail Blazers setting camp at Toronto Raptors' home court.
Despite their uninspiring season records, these two teams have quite a few notable performers under their belt. Over with the Trail Blazers, we have Deni Avdija, who's been flamethrowing last month, averaging 24 points and grabbing 10.2 rebounds. Anfernee Simons has also been sensational, averaging 22 points last month. The Raptors do have their talons, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, both putting up big numbers. Barrett recently snuffed out the basket for a 20.1 points average last month, not to mention Quickley’s lightning 6.4 assists per game. I mean, can you believe these kids?
Historically, this matchup has shown a propensity for a Portland triumph. Let's not forget the dust they kicked up in the past wins, notably the 128-118 scorcher against the Raptors in March '24. I do wish they could travel back in time and relive those glory days because, let's be honest: their recent games were less of the Trail and more of the Blazers. Basketballs probably still have nightmares about their encounter with Atlanta, but they did make a fiery comeback with a 127-113 victory.
On the other hand, Toronto managed to curry some favor with a couple of recent wins, like crushing Brooklyn 116-86. Ah, I still shiver thinking about the meat grinder they put the Nets through. The schedule, though, puts them under the cosh – I mean, playing more games than a Vegas poker table. Exhaustion, my friends, has taken down better teams than this Raptors squad.
My crystal ball (read: obvious reasons) says Portland's going to bring this one home. The Raptors might put up a fight, but the Trail Blazers still got a little bit of that edge left over. For those placing bets, the outcome may surprise you – or not.
