Orlando Magic by 15You can essentially peel back the pages of the calendar and expect a similar outcome to previous meetings. Conspicuously, I'm referring to the last five head-to-head battles between the Orlando Magic and the Washington Wizards, all stepping into the spotlight singing the triumphant sounds of Magic victory. Akin to a groundhog seeing its shadow, the Wizards might be bracing for the same cruel winter that's haunted their regular season, sitting uncomfortably at the bottom of the Eastern Conference compared to Orlando's somewhat middling number 7.
Orlando is sending down the court a league-leading power forward Paolo Banchero emerging from last month's record books with an imposing 29.4 points per game. Franz Wagner, not far behind with his 22.1 points per game, proves yet another compelling argument for the Magic's superior court presence. The Wizards, on the other hand, seem to be leaning heavily on Jordan Poole and his 18.6 points-per-game performance, not quite reaching the spectacle that is Orlando's scoring prowess.
Recent performances echo collective team comparisons, with Magic taking three out of their last five games compared to Wizards that seem to be stuck playing musical chairs with victory. To conjure the words of a proverbial optimist, it ain't over till it's over, but the Wizards should probably prepare for another challenging encounter.
