Los Angeles Clippers by 8
Glad you could join us, because we've got the Dallas Mavericks squaring off with the Los Angeles Clippers and it's shaping up to be a barn burner. Clippers' fans, don't get your jerseys in a bunch, this is just a bit of playful banter.
The Mavericks have a smorgasbord of talent, including the effervescent Naji Marshall who, in the past month, has been chipping in an impressive 19.8 points per game. And let's not forget Anthony Davis, who's been vacuuming up rebounds like he's got a Dyson sponsorship - 8.4 per game last month to be exact. Just to add some additional spice to the Mavericks' gumbo, P.J. Washington Jr. has been contributing a solid 21.7 points per game.
Now, for the Clippers. What to say, what to say. Well, let's start with James Harden. Last month alone, Harden was dropping buckets with an average of 25.8 points per game. And then there's Ivica Zubac, playing like the stakes are as high as his rebounds per game -12.5 to be exact. Kawhi Leonard, not one to miss out on the fun, is putting points on the board like they're going out of style, scoring 24.8 per game last month.
But let's take a stroll down memory lane for a moment. The past confrontations between these two have been nothing short of electric. The Mavericks and the Clippers have duked it out on the court like two heavyweights, with the Mavericks taking the advantage more often than not.
When looking at the overall season, the Clippers have a better record, clocking in at 44-32 compared to the Mavericks' calorically deficient 38-39. Recently though, we've seen a bit more of an ebb and flow from both teams, unexpectedly swinging back and forth like a metronome with a mind of its own.
Take a gander at their standing positions, we find the Los Angeles Clippers perched at #7 in the Western Conference with the Dallas Mavericks lagging behind at #9. The Mavericks may be in the shadow of the Clippers, but let's not forget, shadows only exist because there's a strong source of light.
But enough with the small talk, let's get down to brass tacks, shall we? You want a winner and a margin, and I'm going to give it to you.
Albert’s Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers by 8.
