So here we are folks, gearing up for what promises to be a slightly lopsided encounter between the dynamic Sacramento Kings and the slightly less dynamic Washington Wizards. Pardon my sincere optimism. The Kings, relatively high on the hog in the Western Conference, are looking to use Wizards as a stepping stone. Through my squinty-eyed analysis, I'd say the Kings DeMar DeRozan, Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine are a trio to reckon with, consistently racking up solid numbers on the board this season. DeRozan, undeterred by his receding hairline, is pulling up some 22 points per game, quite impressive!
On the other hand, we have the Wizards. Positioned rock bottom in the Eastern Conference and displaying as much potency as a soft pillow, they are leaning heavily on their top players, Alexandre Sarr and Jordan Poole to stir up some magic. Poole, with an average of nearly 20 points per games this season, is trying to make an indent in their losing streak, hence the dark circles under his eyes.
If history teaches us anything, we might place our chickens in the Kings' coup. In their recent matchups, the Kings have triumphed over the Wizards thrice out of the four times. I'd say even future-soothsayers don't need a crystal ball for this one.
From the recent results, the Kings have had a decent run, barring some minor hiccups. On the contrary, the Wizards' recent results are a sorry reading, like a badly written obituary.
Then there are the season records. The Kings have a better win-loss ratio, for what it's worth. In contrast, the Wizards use the phrase "reconstructing, not rebuilding" a lot.
So, place your bets, pull out your snacks, and gird your loins folks, because it's looking like the Kings will be reign over the Wizards once more, unless they decide to field their cheerleaders, then, who knows?
