St. Louis Cardinals by 2If you ask me to paint a picture about this forthcoming clash between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Cleveland Guardians, I'd say it's going to be more of a thriller than a run-of-the-mill baseball game.
Right out of the gates, let's take a moment to admire Matt Liberatore, star pitcher for the Cardinals, talking about a hero - the man has a lower ERA than his counterpart from Cleveland, Logan Allen. Not to mention a better WHIP. But hey, who's counting?
Looking at the key players, cards are heavily stacked in favor of the Cardinals, metaphorically and literally. With folks like Alec Burleson, Yohel Pozo, and Willson Contreras on their squad, they have a decidedly stronger batting lineup compared to the Guardians. Not to belittle Jose Ramirez and Carlos Santana from Cleveland, but have you seen Burleson's batting average? Take a bow, sir!
As far as the previous games between these teams are concerned, it seems to be a Cardinals’ high tea served at the Guardians' garden, given their past results. Seems like the Cardinals are more than comfortable playing in the Progressive Field, despite the slight pitcher advantage due to the park's factor. No biggie!
In terms of recent form, the Cardinals look like a car that just had a tune-up compared to the Guardian's old banger due to some tough defeats.
Regular season wouldn't tilt much in anyone's favour, but it's clear the Cardinals have a sharper beak over the Guardians, just by a hair, but as my grandma used to say, "Honey, a win's a win!"
Weighing it all together, I'd be putting my money on the Cardinals emerging victorious. So hold onto your hats, baseball fans, this is going to be one crazy ride in Progressive Field!
