Alright, my good people, listen up. We've got the Cleveland Guardians on a road trip, visiting the Athletics at the Oakland Coliseum. Not exactly a paradise for our bat-wielding warriors might I add. But it's okay, we love a challenge, don't we?
The Guardians are sending Slade Cecconi to the mound with a current ERA of 4.19. Not too shabby considering he looks like he just left high school. The guy's striking out 10.2 per nine innings this season, pretty impressive stuff. On the flip side, the A's hand the ball to JP Sears with an ERA at a lofty 5.60. Sears is serving up a lukewarm 7.1 strikeouts per nine innings this season.
Cleveland has some powerhouses in their lineup. Jose Ramirez has been hotter than a ghost pepper with a batting average of 0.346, 12 RBIs, and 4 homers. Steve Kwan and Angel Martinez are holding their own but not as impressive as Ramirez. On the other hand, Athletics have players like Jacob Wilson and Brent Rooker making their presence known at the plate. Wilson has been delivering all season with a .374 average. Rooker is hauling ass and dragging fence with 18 RBIs.
Looking back on previous encounters, the Guardians seem to have the A's number. And if we're talking regular season records, the Guardians hold the high ground sporting a 38-37 record compared to the A's subpar 32-47.
So, let's cut to the chase. My gut says:
