Seattle Mariners by 2Here we are, with the Baltimore Orioles swooping into T-Mobile Park to take on the Seattle Mariners. Peering at our upcoming birdwatching session, our feathered friends from Baltimore have been struggling this season with a not-so-grand 22-36 win-loss record. But hold onto your binoculars, they're bringing in the Japanese sensation, Tomoyuki Sugano to the mound - who is not a sorry sight with his 3.31 ERA and a solid WHIP of 1.09. These numbers are no bird-feed, folks.
The Mariners, on the other fin, are flapping their wings pretty confidently, boasting a better record at 32-26. But brace yourself for some choppy seas with their starting pitcher, George Kirby, who seems to have lost his compass this season with a whopping ERA of 12.07 - yikes! However, keep in mind he held formidable last season.
In the batting department, the Orioles' bats have some spark - Ryan O'Hearn and Jackson Holliday, having solid averages and RBIs up their sleeves. The Mariners, though, aren't just birds of ordinary feather either - Julio Rodriguez and hot-hitter Cal Raleigh will look to make a big splash.
Now, turning our attention to T-Mobile Park, it's worth noting that it favors the pitchers slightly, so it might just be Sugano's day. No pressure, kid.
Remember, history also has its weight. According to the ancient scrolls (okay, not that ancient), there's a pretty clear split in the past encounters between these two teams. Ah, like two lovebirds who just can't decide who's boss.
