My Prediction
Detroit Tigers by 3Ah, yes, we have the Kansas City Royals taking on the Detroit Tigers over at Comerica Park in Detroit, the adobe of the Tigers, where pitchers might just have an oh-so-slight advantage. Which brings us straight to our starting pitchers, for the Royals we have Seth Lugo on the mound with a fairly respectable 4.02 ERA from this season's regular games. Now, Detroit's got Casey Mize getting all set to send some heat with an even more impressive 2.74 ERA this season.
Let's talk about those guys crushing it with a bat for the Royals, shall we? Firstly, we've got swifty Bobby Witt Jr. batting .325 this season, a hair-raising streak, isn't it? And then there's Maikel Garcia, who's done more than his fair share of damage with 10 RBIs so far. Meanwhile, the Tigers, they're not kitten around when it comes to putting some scores on the board. With Spencer Torkelson holding his ground in the batter's box and batting .282 and generating 16 RBIs, and Kerry Carpenter hitting .302, they've got a decent tally too.
Now, considering the history of these two teams, it's evident that the Tigers have clawed their way past the Royals quite frequently. The last five games between these two are all pinned blue in the Tigers' half of the bulletin board.
Looking at the regular season records, Detroit Tigers are off with a strong start with a 12-8 win-loss record. On the other hand, the Royals haven't been at their royal best with a rather gloomy 8-13 record.
And this brings us right down to the recent results. It seems like the Royals are in a bit of a funk of late, having lost their last five games, two of them to this very same Detroit team. And speaking of Detroit, they've been on a roll with 3 wins in their last 5 games.
