San Francisco Giants by 2
All right, sports enthusiasts, I'm about to drop some baseball wisdom on you. The San Francisco Giants are visiting the Cincinnati Reds at the Great American Ball Park, a venue known to have some sort of magical effect on batters.
Stepping onto the mound for the Giants we have Robbie Ray, his last season wasn't his finest with an ERA of 4.881, but maybe he's changed his breakfast cereal this year, who knows? Opposing him will be the Reds' Nick Martínez with a decent 3.182 ERA last year but, let's be honest, we're still waiting to find out what he brings this season.
Over at team Giants, a spotlight falls on Tyler Fitzgerald and Willy Adames. Fitzgerald, a decent .270 hitter with 14 homers, paired with Adames, hitting .251 but he can certainly pack a punch with 32 home runs. Within the Reds' dugout, their faith will likely be in Elly De La Cruz and Tyler Stephenson. Particularly Mr. De La Cruz, who found himself rounding those bases 25 times last season, oh and did we mention the 67 stolen bases? Kids got legs.
Delving into last season the Giants ended with a close win-loss ratio of 80-82 whereas the Reds struggled a little more with a 77-85 record. Now if we look back over recent face-offs between these two, seems like the Giants have had the upper hand slightly.
So as they say, put your money where your mouth is. Here comes Albert's Prediction: San Francisco Giants by 2.
