Los Angeles Dodgers by 3Oh boy, we've got a real humdinger brewing here! The Atlanta Braves are rolling into Dodger Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. Let's get into the nitty gritty, shall we?
Atlanta Braves are putting their faith in Bryce Elder taking the mound. Mixed bag, this fella. Elder hasn't had a chance to stretch his arm this season, and last season, well, let's just say, it wasn't a performance that'll be breaking any records unless they start keeping track of pitchers leaving fans sobbing in their popcorn.
Meanwhile, the LA Dodgers will be pinning their hopes on the arm of one mister "steady" Blake Snell. Snell's just been for a stroll in the park this season with fairly okay set of numbers. But let's not forget his consistent performance last season, as cool as the other side of the pillow.
Now, when you look at the batting lineup — if heartburn was a baseball team it would look a lot like the Atlanta Braves. Nick Allen and Marcell Ozuna are grinding it out with as much as you could expect from men swinging a stick at a ball, but Ozzie Albies, that lad is having a bit of a dry season... I guess.
On the other side of the fence, the Dodgers are not mucking about. With Will Smith and Mookie Betts hitting like rumors into a small-town gossip mill and Tommy Edman not too far behind, they've got more firepower than a Fourth of July fireworks display.
And speaking of fireworks, the fireworks of the past have been mostly blue and white, the Dodgers have been bashing the Braves like a whack-a-mole game with the Dodgers leading in recent matchups.
And, I hate to kick Braves while they're down but yikes, that regular season record of 0-6 is the kind of thing that gives managers night sweats. In contrast, the Dodgers are running a clean sheet of 7-0. It's like comparing a souped-up muscle car to a tricycle, folks.
Toss in the fact that Dodger Stadium is more batter-friendly than a pastry chef with a sweet tooth, and I'm sorry Atlanta fans, but this feels like it's heading in one direction.
