Tommy Paul in straight sets.Alright lovely tennis fanatics, let's dive into the stats of our two dashing knights on the court, Johannus Monday and Tommy Paul. Might I add, this is quite the David vs Goliath scenario we've got going on here.
Now, Tommy Paul is the 13th seed, while Johannus Monday apparently didn't find a seed anywhere in sight. Update your prescription, Johannus! Seed aside, though, Paul's recent performances have been strong, to say it mildly. He's won three of his last five matches, and notably, two of those victories were marathons, going the full five sets.
On the other side of the net, Monday's recent record looks like my laundry cycle - mainly dirty, with a hint of clean. He's secured one win in his last five matches, a victor over O’Connell C., in a nail biting 2 set to 1. And listen, I'm not knocking Monday here, I'm just saying his lack of consistency is more evident than a pimple on prom night.
