Having a gaze at our competitors, we've got Jannik Sinner, our top seed, who's been showing us a touch of magic on the court recently. Scored a straight set victory against Djokovic, a feat only accomplished by the brave-hearted. Then we've got Luca Nardi, unseeded but not to be dismissed entirely. However, recent match history isn't looking too cheery for our underdog, losing more matches than a baker does rolls.
Given that tennis is a sport with elements of chivalry, I'd love to say, "Expect an upset! Believe in the underdog!" But truthfully, Sinner's current form is like a fine Italian espresso - it's strong, it's bold and oh, it's absolutely scintillating to watch. And Nardi? More like a lukewarm latte that's been left on the countertop for too long.
I mean, sure, Nardi had a good run smashing Cobolli to love, but his losses outnumber his victories more than my sarcastic comments after a lovely game (which are innumerable, by the way). Oh, and did I mention that we have a top seed against an unseeded player? No? Well, there you go in case you forgot.
Fair warning, folks, I wouldn't be expecting the Battle of Stirling Bridge here...unless Sinner decides to play blindfolded and with a frying pan instead of a racket.
Albert's Prediction: Sinner in straight sets.
