Bublik in straight sets.Ah, the sweet smell of freshly cut grass and the ceaseless murmur of expectant spectators – nothing quite like a good old Wimbledon fixture, eh? We've got ourselves a riveting matchup today between 28-seed, Alexander Bublik and the unseeded wildcard, Jaume Munar.
I mean, no disrespect to Munar, the chap's solid in his own right, but comparing his recent performance to Bublik's is like comparing my old Uncle Bob's dart skills to a professional dart player - there's just no competition.
Bublik has been handing out a whole lot of love lately, as his list of recent victories reads like a who's who of top-ranked players. Will he carry this momentum forward into this match? Does a bear take a mid-afternoon siesta?
On the other hand, Munar, bless him – he's been about as consistent as British summertime, and that's saying something. Recent matchups have seen him greeted with a bit more rug burn than he’d like. Between you and me, if he can't keep his end up for more than two sets, we might be in for a quick game of "Thanks for coming."
