Tsitsipas in straight sets.
Well if it isn't another spicy matchup, we've got the Greek god of the court himself, Stefanos Tsitsipas squaring off against the rising Canadian star, Felix Auger-Aliassime. A classic David vs Goliath, if David had a mean backhand and Goliath was actually a well-conditioned athlete and not a lumbering giant.
These two have met before, and let's say Tsitsipas probably views Felix as a free gyro, having easily chewed him up in a 2 set victory with enough time left over to relax on a beach in Mykonos. But it is sport and the unexpected usually finds a way to make an appearance.
Now, our Canadian hope Felix might be unseeded, which seems as cheeky as poutine on a diet, but he's been battling hard to show he belongs on the centre court. That being said, he's managed to scrape in a few wins in recent matches, but they've all been stretched to their limits, like a bad elastic waistband on Boxing Day.
Meanwhile, Tsitsipas, who's been seeded higher than a farmer’s field, has been giving a masterclass on how to sweep your opponents efficiently. Sonego and Griekspoor memories are still fresh, I'm sure, in the form of love sets. Sure, there was a minor setback with Medjedovic, but then again, even Zeus had a bad day or two.
With these in mind, and with no hint of any debauchery, it's fair to say Tsitsipas is looking like he'll glide through this as effortlessly as a hot knife in butter. But if you cheer for underdogs and are looking for a Game-of-Thrones-level upset, then stay tuned, because that's why we play the game, and who doesn't like a good plot twist?
And remember, these are just lighthearted observations that might help your prediction pursuit.
Albert’s Prediction: Tsitsipas in straight sets.
