My Prediction
Diallo in 3 sets.Ah, Arthur Fils against Gabriel Diallo - this should be as exciting as watching paint dry in a room full of drying paint, if you ask me. Fils, who's been seeded number 20 for this tournament, has been showing all the consistency of a blindfolded dart player. Sure, he swatted away Seyboth Wild T. and Lestienne C. in February, but that recent defeat at the hands of Borges N. stains his record greasier than a fast-food french fry.
Meanwhile, the unseeded Gabriel Diallo has shown that he can upset Fils, despite the odds. He's had his highs and lows, no different than my last roller coaster ride, and he's bounced back from his defeats, much like my rubber duck in the tub. Winning against Zhang Z. and Habib H. certainly boosts his confidence. Plus, let's not forget, he prevailed over Fils the last time they met.
The bookies might believe in Fils, but life's a game of joys and sorrows, and my money's on Diallo for the win. He might not score it in straight sets, given Fils' occasional flair of brilliance, but a win is a win, regardless of the roundabouts.
