Raise your rackets and tighten your sweatbands, ladies and gents, because this one's an interesting one. We've got Tommy Paul up against Tristan Boyer in the BNP Paribas Open (Round of 64). Theon Greyjoy's less successful, racket-wielding brother, Tommy, is the favorite to take home the title, being seeded 10th in the tournament and showing off some aces and smashes that could ruffle anyone's shorts.
Now, we've got the underdog Tristan Boyer, who’s unseeded in the tournament, and no doubt, singing "I Will Survive" to himself every night. Boyer has been a bit like my grandma's salsa recipe recently - hit-or-miss, with two wins and three losses in his last five matches. To his credit though, he beat Vukić A. recently, a notable win, even if it was as close as my belt buckle after Thanksgiving dinner.
Paul, on the other hand, brings the consistency of a metronome with a few more ticks in the win column. He's managed to defang Diallo G. and Quinn E. not too long ago, showing off his skills with some power and precision. Although he did taste bitter defeat against Shapovalov D., he's still got the fighting spirit of a cornered raccoon.
Now, unless Tristan suddenly decides to turn into Roger Federer overnight, it's a safe bet to put your imaginary money on Tommy. He's got a track record that's as clean as my dry-cleaned suit, and looks to be in prime form. So, unless there are any surprise meteor showers or alien abductions, I'm seeing smooth sailing for Mr. Paul.
Albert’s Prediction: Paul in straight sets.
