My Prediction
Medvedev in straight sets.In this high octane face-off, we got the Russian, Daniil Medvedev up against the unseeded bulldog, Yunchaokete Bu. Medvedev, sitting pretty at tournament seed number 5, has a mixed bag of recent match results. But we can't just forget how he snapped Mpetshi Perricard and Struff like twigs in straight sets. Love it!
On the other side of the net, we have Mr. Bu. Now don't get me wrong, he certainly knows which end of the racket to hold. His latest game against Basavareddy saw him cruise through without missing a beat. But it's not all rosy. The guy lost three out of his five recent matches. Maybe those losses keep him awake at night, who knows.
So, what's my forecast? Now, I'm no weatherman, but the clouds of triumph, in my opinion, lean heavily over Mr. Medvedev. I suspect he'd pummel through Bu without dropping a set. But this is tennis, folks, not a charity event. No one's going to hand you a victory wrapped in a bow. Bu will have to hope that Medvedev slept wrong or something.
