Recent play is likely key and while Michelsen seems to have been juggling performances like a circus clown, chalk it up mostly to the unpredictability of the game; beat Smith, lost to Shapovalov, bet not many saw that coming, considering Shapovalov's haircut these days. But let's tip our hats off to Mic, he pulled some rabbit-out-of-the-hat tricks upsetting Yunchaokete and Norrie, both in straight sets too.
Now if we squint our eyes and gaze at Medvedev's recent results, we'll see that despite losing to the seemingly unpronounceable Griekspoor, he has spread love like a neighborhood Casanova among his other challengers. Our Meadow Marvel has trodden through the competition, taking out Yunchaokete, Mpetshi-Perricard and Struff all with zero love lost. And remember, Medvedev is the 5th seed, while Michelsen lags behind at 31.

Sure, Michelsen is a feisty contender but Medvedev's high seed and consistent form projects a brighter aurora. Now don't hold me to it, but I see Medvedev taking this showdown in three sets. After all, the best things in life come in threes, or so they say.
